  • The American Dream..

Well, lets be completely honest, it's different for everyone.

Women have been fighting for equal rights and equality. I get that. Women have the right to be everything men can be. I hate that sometimes. I hate that the lines are blurred. I hate that I'm expected to go out and have a full time job and run a household. I wish the lines were clear. I mostly wish I wasn't expected to take out the trash and pump my gas when it is cold outside. My aunt Nedra never pumps her gas. EVER. He says that I don't cook anyways, so why would it matter? Well if cooking, cleaning and maintaining the house was my job I sure as hell would learn. I would be a sewing goddess. I would bake cakes and have dinner ready every night and do it with a smile on my face. But no. I am expected to go to college and work 40 hours a week. I would love to wear a dress everyday. I would love to wear pearls while cooking. I have a feeling that I was definitely born in the wrong century.

That is nothing against women who have a college education and want to be part of the workforce. More power to you. Its just not my dream.

  • Its that time..

Ah yes, that magical time of year when I decide to keep an online journal/blog. Maybe I will update it more than twice before I get bored/busy/forget.. Doubtful, but maybe. It should be easier this time since I am working at Motel hell (aka I have nothing better to do with my time than play on the internets.

Topic of todays conversation... Wedding Music.

So many decisions. So many side eyes. I really shouldn't care what people think because it isn't their wedding.. but I do. Which is the main reason that our first dance song isn't "Tale as Old as Time" from Beauty and the Beast like I had originally wanted. The other reason is because the reception is at a KofC hall and there is neither grand staircase or hand painted ceiling. But mainly its the side eyes and comments.. "Oh, you're calling your new husband a beast? That isn't very kosher Casey.." I hope your happy mom/aunts/friends. We are doing "Truly Madly Deeply" as our first dance song now. Incredibly high school prom-ish, but I love it, and you took my first choice away from me.

Continuing with music you also dashed my hopes of having a Titanic driven processional. Its not like I was going to walk down the aisle to "My Heart Will Go On.." Just a few of the lesser known instrumentals. Don't you people get tired of hearing Canon in D Major? Frankly, I do. Its a little played out and not my style.

    Prelude Music:
    Ava Maria
Always with Me - Youmi Kimura
Promise to the World - Cheiko Baisho

    Processional:
    Rose - James Horner

    Bridal Processional:
    Undecided...

    Recessional:
Somewhere Over the Rainbow - Israel Kamakawiwo'ole
    Mario 64 Ending Theme
